lestuff

Andrew Lindesay (Silvereye Software Limited) has developed a collection of software tools called lestuff. lestuff works with the popular java platform and JEE architecture.

What is this Stuff?

lestuff consists of the following elements;

Open Source

lestuff is distributed under an open-source license. The text of the license is distributed with the source-code of the project.

Distribution and Building

At present, you are required to build lestuff artifacts yourself from a snapshot of the source code. The README.TXT file in the source distribution describes how to undertake the build. The core java components are built using the Apache Maven build tool and software project-management system. Other components are built using their native build systems.

Note: at the time of writing, lestuff build is dependent on the stable 3.0 TRUNK of Cayenne to build. You will need to SVN export a version from the following URL...
http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/cayenne/main/branches/STABLE-3.0
...and then issue a "mvn install" at the top level. This extra step is expected to be able to be avoided once Cayenne 3.0.1 is formally released.

Credits

The lestuff project owes some credit to other projects; ProjectWonder has provided numerous insights which have helped in the implementation of lestuff. Likewise, the GNUStepWeb, SOPE and GETobjects projects have given insights which have guided the implementation of lestuff-cedarcore.
