CHINA’S ADORABLE GIANT PANDA TRIPLETSView Larger Image

Thanks to a competition from New Zealand Chinese Language Week, five lucky winners will be winging their way on an all-expenses-paid trip to China.

Launching today, the competition is sponsored by China Southern Airlines, supported by the Guangzhou Tourism Bureau. The prize will see the winners sent to China’s third largest city of Guangzhou, gateway to Southern China and home base for the Airlines.

Should you win, as part of your experience you will visit Guangzhou Safari Park, home to 500 rare animal species including the world’s only giant panda triplets who turned four in July.

“China Southern Airlines is giving New Zealanders the opportunity to experience the shopping, food, and culture offered by a major Chinese city. The lucky winners will also be able to visit the Pandas at Chimelong Safari Park, and other tourism sites including the Cantonese Opera Museum,” said Jo Coughlan, co-chair of the New Zealand Chinese Language Week Trust.

The competition is part of New Zealand Chinese Language Week which runs from the 23-29 September and encourages people to try speaking Chinese and learn about Chinese culture.

“The aim is to offer our winners a memorable experience and hope they come back to New Zealand inspired to continue their relationship with all things China.”

Discovering Guangzhou will be a wonderful experience and a fantastic opportunity to explore a new culture.

“China Southern Airlines flies to Guangzhou twice a day direct from Auckland International Airport, and once from the Christchurch International Airport in the peak season. We are offering more opportunities than ever for New Zealanders to experience Guangzhou, along with the other 223 destinations we fly to in the world,” said Lilly Wang, general manager of China Southern Airlines Auckland Office.

New Zealand Chinese Language Week raises awareness of opportunities to learn Chinese for educational, tourist, or business-related activities. Once again, this year they are encouraging Kiwis to ‘have a go’ and try the ‘5 Days, 5 Phrases’ challenge.

To enter the Guangzhou, with Love competition, you must be over 18 years old, a New Zealand resident and submit a video on Instagram.

“We hope the winners of the competition will be delighted with their visit, tell their friend and family about it, and choose to come back again.”
